Thin Multi‑Wire Saw for Granite & Quartz Slabs

DS-U-G3220
DINOSAW’s down‑feed thin multi‑wire saw delivers high‑throughput thin/medium‑thin slab cutting for hard stones. Stable tension, optimized wire speed, and robust gantry ensure small kerf (≈0.5–0.8mm), uniform thickness, and reduced polishing workload. Ideal for granite, engineered quartz, and sintered stone premium slabs. Improves yield and finish quality versus gangsaw or multi‑blade cutters; supports large blocks and continuous production lines.

Real Cutting Performance & Key Metrics

The DS-U-G3220 is the workhorse of the U series: a 3200 mm cutting width runs a proven 95-wire setup on 2000 mm medium-hard marble in a 20 mm slab program — at ±0.3 mm accuracy on a 58-ton cast monoblock.

95 Wires

Proven 20 mm Slab Setup

A proven customer setup runs about 95 wires on a 2000 mm medium-hard marble block for 20 mm slabs.

Cutting Accuracy

Multi-groove main rollers, spacer plates and 0–260 N servo tension keep thickness consistent across the whole web.

0.3–0.8 mm

Compatible Wire Range

Match wire diameter to stone hardness — 0.8 mm for hard granite, 0.60–0.65 mm for hard marble, 0.55 mm for soft marble — and switch programs by re-spacing.

Applicable materials: Granite, quartz, marble, limestone, travertine, engineered stone and other hard stones.

Typical products: High-volume standard and thin slabs for tile, countertop and panel production.

For thinner programs, slab output increases with the same block width — a 10 mm program on a 2000 mm block can reach about 181 slabs per cycle.

Wire count and slab output are configuration-dependent, not fixed machine limits. Actual cutting speed and accuracy vary with stone hardness, block dimensions, wire specification and on-site conditions.

Specs and options

The DS-U-G3220 covers 3.2 m-class blocks on a 58-ton cast-iron platform with 300 kW installed power and 35 m/s wire speed. Roller sets (Φ350/Φ400/Φ450 × 2050) are selected per slab program; the larger DS-U-G3623 is available for 3.6 m blocks.

Core Technology & Machine Structure

Six core systems behind a proven 95-wire production web. The numbered points on the machine diagram correspond to the systems below.

DS-U-G3220 Production Workflow

A cycle follows four steps: load and square the block on the lifting table, thread wires per the slab program (about 95 wires in the proven 20 mm setup on a 2000 mm block), apply stored or AI-recommended parameters, then lift and cut. Automatic stop on wire break protects the web.

01

Stone-Lifting Feed

The lifting worktable raises 3.2 m-class blocks into the wire web — the feed design chosen for stable cutting quality and lower maintenance on long production cycles.

02

58-Ton Cast Monoblock

A 58-ton one-piece cast-iron frame carries multi-wire loads at full block width and holds precision over ten-plus years of operation.

03

Four Grooved Main Rollers

Four precision-grooved main rollers seat the full wire count, prevent deviation and define slab thickness; alternating servo rotation extends wire service life.

04

Independent Servo Tension

The independent 0–260 N servo tension system compensates wire elongation and load changes, so every wire in the web cuts at stable tension.

05

Multi-Wire Positioning System

Positioning across a production-scale wire web is guaranteed by precision-machined roller grooves, accurate spacer plates and servo synchronization — the basis of consistent ±0.3 mm slabs.

DS-U-G3220 Selection, Installation & Operation FAQ

Common Questions About Thin Multi-Wire Stone Cutting

Output depends on stone hardness, slab thickness and wire specification, so there is no single fixed figure. In the proven 20 mm setup on 2000 mm medium-hard marble, the machine runs about 95 wires per cycle; cutting speed for medium-hard marble is typically around 150–200 mm/h downward. DINOSAW evaluates your block sizes and target program to project a realistic capacity figure before configuration.
